With proper training, kitesurfing is safe. The main risks usually occur during kite launching and landing. Always learn from certified instructors and use a helmet, impact vest, and safety leash for maximum safety.

We have students from 8 years old to 70 years old. The main thing for our little ones is that they weigh at least 30 kilos so that the lessons can be held in complete safety.

WindCircus provides you with all the necessary safety equipment.

This includes:

• Helmet
• Impact vest
• Hook knife (in case of an emergency with the lines)

🧴 A UV-protective rash guard is highly recommended, but not included.

You can purchase one at our local shop or online.

This varies from person to person and mostly depends on the weather conditions. However, beginners typically need 8–12 hours of lessons to:

• Control the kite with confidence
• Body-drag upwind
• Perform water start and ride upwind

Nafpaktos offers some of the best conditions in Europe for learning kitesurfing, thanks to:

• Shallow waters
• Steady winds
• Flat water (minimal chop and waves)

That’s why most of our students become independent kitesurfers within 8–10 hours.

After that, we offer supervision, which is more than enough in most cases.

Group lessons (2–3 people): More affordable, fun for social learners, and less tiring since you take turns with your peers. You can also learn a lot by observing others.

Private lessons: Progress is much faster thanks to personalized feedback. If your goal is to become an independent kitesurfer as quickly as possible, we recommend going for private lessons.

It requires moderate core strength and endurance. Lessons typically last around 2 hours, so kitesurfing is accessible to most people.

No – kitesurfing requires a unique set of skills. Snowboarders and wakeboarders often progress faster when it comes to board control, but the combination of managing both the board and the kite is very unique and takes time to master.
